tricision Invited to Participate in VacCon 2022 – The 4th Novel Vaccine R&D and Industrialization Forum
VacCon 2022, the 4th Novel Vaccine R&D and Industrialization Forum, was recently held at the Ritz-Carlton Chengdu. tricision was invited to participate in this event. The conference attracted over 60 experts from government regulatory agencies, scientific researchers, scientists, and leading enterprise executives in the vaccine/neutralizing antibody/small-molecule COVID-19 drug fields, along with 600+ professional attendees—gathering to discuss new industry policy trends and explore future directions for novel vaccines.

The forum was organized by Shanghai Botong
Information Consulting Co., Ltd., with strong support from the Sichuan
Pharmaceutical Society and the American Chinese Biomedical Association
(CBA-USA). Three specialized sessions were held: nucleic acid vaccines
(mRNA and DNA) , other novel vaccines , and COVID-19
vaccines and drugs. In-depth discussions covered next-generation vaccine
development barriers and industrialization, mRNA technology barriers and
vaccine/drug innovation, mRNA vaccine CMC and quality control industrial chain
development, mRNA/DNA vaccine exploration for COVID-19 and other indications,
recombinant vaccines and adjuvants, adenovirus vector vaccine innovation and
industrialization, COVID-19 policy and future R&D strategy, clinical
development experience and insights from COVID-19 vaccines, and COVID-19 drug
(neutralizing antibodies/small molecules) development strategies for emerging
variants.
Dr. Li Shiyou, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of tricision, served as moderator for a roundtable discussion on "How to Break Through Challenges in mRNA Nucleic Acid Vaccine Patents, Industrial Chain, Process Quality, and Cost?" He was joined by panelists including Mr. Wang Hanming (Vice President of Bin Hui Bio), Dr. Li Zhigang (Vice President and Head of Quality, StemiRNA), and Mr. Yu Hang (CEO of Bluejay Bio).

In his outlook, Dr. Li Shiyou stated: "I believe that in 5 to 10 years, China will have dozens of excellent mRNA drug/vaccine companies, and mRNA technology will gradually become a routine and standard technology for pharmaceutical and vaccine enterprises." He noted that since the COVID-19 pandemic, China's mRNA upstream and downstream industrial chain has developed rapidly—from raw materials and excipients to facilities and equipment—with many aspects already localized. Meanwhile, Contract Research Organization (CRO) and CDMO companies have begun positioning in mRNA, and he believes the mRNA industrial ecosystem will be established soon. For tricision, the Company is building a unique closed-loop R&D and production structure—including an integrated technology platform combining R&D and production, and a quality-by-design, quality-by-R&D, and quality-by-production integrated efficient R&D and manufacturing platform—to better achieve mRNA molecule industrialization and benefit human health.
